Ritz-Carlton San Francisco: Really Putting on the Ritz!

by diverpam Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Sep 15 '02
Pros: Beautiful and elegant, great location, excellent service
Cons: Might not fit into everyone's budget
Yes, I know. Pretty corny. But how often do you get to say it and really mean it?

I was fortunate enough to stay at the Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco on business while covering a conference being held at the hotel. Normally, my company...

Fall Weekend at the Ritz - Oct. 22-24, 2004

by jimstraz , Oct 27 '04
Pros: Decor, feather bed and linens, bath products and amazing food.
Cons: Location, price, rooms decor, no view, tiny gym/spa, awkward valet area.
I just stayed this past weekend (Oct 22-24) at the Ritz Carlton San Francisco. I would like to give a quick review for anyone needing current info. As many of us know there is a major strike/lockout going on at the hotels in SF. I wanted to stay at ...

LOVED the Ritz-Carlton - looking for excuse to go back!

by theblackcat , Sep 10 '05
Pros: Concierge, Service and Club Lounge
Cons: On top of a steep hill
We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in a Club Suite (Room 915) from 8/26/2005 to 8/30/2005 to attend a wedding. From the moment we arrived at SFO (1:16AM) to the time we left, we were treated like royalty. I was actually contacted before my arrival via e-mail ...

You can take your hat off!

by barnardcol , Apr 30 '01
Pros: delightful little treats, surprisingly filling, staff make you feel special
Cons: can't afford to do this every week!
The Ritz Carlton knows how to make you feel special on a day of celebration. People of all ages were in the tea room enjoying an afternoon with friends or family, most for a special occasion. I was there with my father and some friends, celebrating my...

Pure American Class

by aplatt , Feb 06 '01
Pros: Simple. Elegant. Beautiful.
Cons: You'll probably have to leave at some point.
The Ritz Carlton San Francisco embodies a distinctly American flavor of true class. While a typical European luxury hotel might be built inside a former royal palace, the RCSF's uniquely American brand of luxury springs from the renovation of a 1909...

Just as you would expect

by drcns , Dec 26 '00
Pros: Everything you expect and demand from a high-end hotel
Cons: Location, you have to march up a small hill from Union Square or Chinatown
(Background: I live in San Francisco and arrange hotel rooms for business and family visitors on a frequent basis. I personally check in at the counter and deal face-to-face with the hotel staff. I personally check each room and inquire about the...

This is an excellent hotel for your San Francisco stay!

by pebblebro , Sep 23 '01
Pros: Incredibly elegant, excellent health facilities, rooms are spacious, worth every penny
Cons: Location could be a bit better
The minute that I pulled up to this hotel, I was awaited by the bell man in their proper blue jackets, welcoming us to one of the greatest cities in the country, San Francisco. This was my first time here, and I knew that staying at the Ritz would...

The best hotel in the world

by mirandaw , Dec 27 '00
Pros: decor, service, location
Cons: I can't afford to live there full time
I stayed here over a year ago before the extensive renovations and found it to be a tiny bit shabby. On my return the week before Christmas of this year I was in heaven. The place glittered from head to toe. New carpets, luxury fabrics on the walls,...

Somewhat of a disappointment...

by krewe , May 20 '05
Pros: Beautiful lobby, excellent service
Cons: Cold showers, needed a remodel
I was very excited to be staying at the Ritz last weekend but unfortunately I have to say I was disappointed. It's not really a convenient location on top of Nob Hill but I knew that ahead of time and thought the Ritz would be worth it. I was wrong. ...

A Perfect Getaway

by pnng , Feb 17 '05
Pros: Amazing Amazing Service
Cons: room decor a little boring
I stayed at the Ritz Carlton with my boyfriend over the weekend before Valentines day. The second I walked into the hotel I felt relaxed. While walking to check in we were greeted and offered a glass of Champagne. Check in was very quick and easy. ...

REVIEW OF THE RITZ CARLTON HOTEL, CALIFORNIA
by rincanasi ,Mar 20 '07
Pros: everything is perfect
Cons: none
Palm Springs was once the international playground of Hollywood's Rat Pack in the 1950's. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and many other celebs were regular visitors. However, you don't have to be a star to enjoy the Ritz Carlton Hotel in San Francisco. The Ritz Carlton offers the best accommodation, restaurants, service, entertainment and whether you are looking for a chill out holiday or an action packed adventure, make your base in the wonderful Ritz Carlton hotel. Highly recommended and a wonderful vacation spot.

White Gloves and Top Hats
by lawiii1 ,Mar 25 '07
Pros: Classy, Luxurious, Pampered Elegance.
Cons: Not really.
Excellent hotel. Classic White pillars, old style glamour. We were greeted by the Valet--white gloves and top hat, class all the way. We stayed over Thanksgiving, the Christmas tree in the lobby was beautiful. The room was very nice, excellent bed comforter. Could use a dual shower head, but very nice all around. Room service was good-chocolate cake was delicious. Concierge recommendations were excellent.

No Matter Where We Go..The Kids Hope It Is The S.F. Ritz
by beautyadvisor ,Nov 21 '05
Pros: Rachel, Bond and Jillian Hurley give this a 10!
Cons: No junk food for the kids, but its close.
Great Service, great location and just the best beds. There is very little to say about this hotel, but that it is seemless.
We were there for a conference. I am a beauty writer, so my kids have to hustle...we want to visit the work sites first, so we can get to the "good stuff." The Ritz made it so easy, including actually having our rental car brought to the hotel!
We had stayed at the Kimpton Chain before and I will PAY the difference from now on, because when you go to a city where you walk as much as San Francisco, you want all those little luxuries.
