Pros: Beautiful Watch, Feature-Packed, Cons: Only Minor issues: Size - it's huge. Light only stays lit for 3 seconds.
Excellent Watch. I purchased the SPF40-2V version of this watch (it's the blue version) about a month ago. This was a replacement for my previous "Timex Expedition" watch. The timex worked well for about 2 years before malfunctioning. Both watches ...

Pros: Easy to read dial.
Well designed buttons.
Count down roll to stop watch function. Cons: Possible battery life issue, but with the Pros above who cares?
I have been racing sailboats for years and constantly look for countdown watches that meet the need. Casio has done it with their SPF40-1V model. This model allows one to do a conventional countdown for five or ten minute start sequences, beeping each ...

Pathfinder SPF40 Tough but not at all intuitive to use without manual
by peter_hohaus ,Dec 17 '06
Pros: Many boating-oriented functions. It is tough and easy to read Cons: It is difficult to figure out how to set and use the watch.
A sailing friend told me this watch has everything a sailor wants, so I bought one. Its a big tough, bulky watch and it probably does all kinds of amazing things if only you can figure out how to work it. Trouble is it is not at all intuitive and you probably need a degree in watch setting to use all the functionality.

SPF 40-1VCR
by core_blackhand ,Aug 08 '07
Pros: Sporty watch, but tough as nails. Practical bells and whistles for SCUBA and sailing. Cons: Chunky and thick.
Manual doesn't have all info needed to be entered.
I saw this watch on the web and I liked the features it came with. I needed something for work and play. This watch is big and sturdy; it's designed to take punishment from nature and man.
Overall it's a good watch - so far. The manual did not have any data for NYC. I used Boston data (GMT); later I found that the numbers are identical. The latitude data had to be adjusted based on my location; this helps to give accurate data on hi/lo tide data.
The barometric and temperature data is close to accurate; let the watch stand - as recommended in the manual - and it will gather the info for you. It's not instant; it may take about 20 minutes.
Compass works well and it's fast.

Solid Watch
by ericlhorne ,Jun 17 '07
Pros: Tough. Cons: Big.
I have owned my Sea Pathfinder for a couple of years, now and I have been most impressed. I work outdoors in a salt-water environment and this watch has held up very well. I like the tide graph function and the compass feature is pretty neat, too. I have used the compass while on an airplane just to make sure the pilot was going in the right direction (he was). Though quite large, I would recommend this watch strongly.
